A note on privacy

Museum of John is built from real, found and donated ephemera — notes, photographs, letters, and other small things people left behind. Some of it, by its nature, includes another person's name, handwriting, likeness or other identifiable content.

We take that seriously. Before anything is published, we ask whether it could identify someone in a way that matters, and where it can, we either leave it out, redact the identifying part, or hold the item back from public view entirely. Some items in the collection are catalogued privately but never appear on the site or in an episode for exactly this reason.

This is a personal archive and creative project, not a public record, and judgement calls like this are not always perfect. If you believe you, or someone you know can be identified in a context you are not comfortable with, we want to hear about it.
